Online VS Instore Shopping: The Best of Both Worlds

Christmas is coming, which has got us thinking about the nature of commerce and how there has never been a better time for buying ‘things’. The collective sum of an entire planets’ design and production power lies at the touch of a button.  Choice is no longer a luxury but endemic to the civilised world, a Universal Constant, stretching from your fingertips into infinity. This is especially true for the still-a-bit niche that is the Outdoor Industry.  There was a time not so long ago when it would be common... Read More

Lillehammer More than a place to hide from the mob… Jon from our web team rounds off our Scandi Saga Trilogy with his end of season snowboard trip to Lillehammer in Norway. Picking the right sunglasses.

The sun is finally here, so it is time to get the sunnies out. But picking the right pair for you can take a bit of thought. There are two main things to consider when picking sunglasses, the shape of the frame and the lens. What frame shape is best for you is influenced by the shape of your face; are you Round, Square, Oval, Rectangular, Diamond or Heart? There are many websites to help work this out. Round – If you have a round face, you want to avoid curved... Read More

A Long Weekend in the Cairngorms

With 4 days off over the Easter break, it seemed like a perfect excuse for a trip up to the beautiful Cairngorm mountain range. We booked into a little B&B in Aviemore (The Vermont Guest House), packed our skis and my awesome  Meindl Bhutan boots (thanks to the LD team!) and headed off, up to the mountains   Skiing at Easter can be a little risky in mainland Europe let alone in Scotland, but we couldn’t resist an opportunity to have a final run of the season before hanging up... A Kyrgyzstan Snowboarding Adventure Part 2

Safe Safety Equipment Ortovox avalanche transceiver (with new batteries and spares). Mines becoming a little dated now so I will update when the new lines come out next year. A good resource I found is beaconreviews.com. BCA metal shovel – better without the ripples in the bottom so the snow doesn’t stick. Plastic ones aren’t great when going into ice so I’d go metal every time. Black diamond 260 probe. Deuter ABS on top 30 litre pack. The pack itself was decent and one of the better ones out there.... It’s one of the best experiences I’ve had and involved meeting some great... Read More
