Coffee on the Go
We’ve got our share of coffee connoisseurs here at the LD, so when we’re shipped some free samples of Coffee bags by German Company, Life is You, we had to test them out and compare against our resident coffee brand, Growers Cup.
Growers Cup produce great coffee, packaged in a filter bag. All you have to do is open the top, add water and in a few minutes, out comes quality coffee for you and a friend. They’re ideal for campers, travellers or anyone who fancies a brew on the go.
Life is You Coffee bags are a little different. Within the packaging is a filter sachet of coffee with two legs with which you balance it over your mug. You tear off the top of the sachet and add your hot water. Your water mixes with the coffee and slowly filters into the cup below.
Our friends up the road at 9 Bar were kind enough to give us their professional opinion of the brew and lend us a cup for our own experiments.
” Good if your into coffee and camping, and far far better than instant coffee. “

We ran into two main issue making our cup of joe. First, our mug was a little too wide, meaning that sticky tape had to be employed to keep the arms of the coffee bag in place.
The other little annoyance we found was that the bag only holds a small amount of water, enough for an espresso but not a mug. This meant we kept having to top up the bag. Convenient in the office, but not so much if your out in the hills or in a campsite.
The coffee was good quality, but we’re not convinced by the brewing method. As outdoors men we prefer the Growers Cup. It’s easier to use and helps keep your coffee warm.
