This was the first time I have used LD mountain centre and I have to say the service was very good . I bought these boots for my daughter so she could join me on long walks .As you would expect from Scarpa these boots are very well made and offer great comfort and grip and keep your feet happy on long hikes . Definitely worth the money .
Really pleased with this purchase! Found them to be comfortable after a couple of wears. (Quite firm at first), but a really well made boot!
Can I first review the company - EXCELLENT - quick delivery to France and so very helpful - I would definitely buy from them again . I’ve waited a two months to leave a review so that I could really test the boots out and therefore give a fully review. These are the most expensive boots that I’ve ever bought as previously I’ve always gone for a cheaper mid range boot which tend to last about 18months before I wear them out. I decided upon these as I liked the idea of being able to have them resoled if necessary. I wear my boots every day to walk the dog - the terrain is mixed with grass, rough stone and tarmac . The boots were heavier than my last pair but they are so comfortable to wear causing no rubbing or blisters - straightaway they fitted perfectly BUT and it’s a big but I was extremely disappointed that my feet did get wet and they are not as waterproofed as I was hoping for. Bearing in mind that we have had very little rain I was itching to see how they faired in rain - and this week I managed to find out. Disappointingly my feet were wet within a few minutes of walking through some fairly short grass whilst it was raining . Obviously after paying far more money on these boots than I have previously paid I wasn’t expecting them to leak so easily . My cheaper boots only leaked from the sole because I’d worn them out - these are brand new boots - and the first time of seeing any rain I’m ending up with wet socks !! I know some people have written that they’ve walked through streams in theirs but I haven’t and I’m really disappointed that I’ve now got a pair of boots which won’t keep my feet dry. Maybe I’m just unlucky .
Already have a pair of these boots for my work they are very comfy and waterproof. I did have to size up by half a size. Would fully recommend.
I ordered a size bigger than normal and they fit perfectly. Great boots for hill walking in the Peak District, very comfortable.
Really fabulous boots. Extremely comfy and I feel a lift walking in them. They are snugly perfect for my ‘solid’ feet but if you are a half size, best go up. Very easy and quick to put on and take off-no struggling with lacing. Laces not a problem as previously mentioned.
I just received my new pair as the old ones got worn to death- I'm a bit lop-sided so the soles had worn unevenly after several years' hard wear. These are my all-weather dog walking / farming / hiking boots. They're so light I didn't realise that was what the package was at 1st! Beautiful, comfortable, breathable, hardy, lightweight, & a great price from this vendor. They arrived within days & I can go back to walking the dogs in torrential rain without getting wet socks!
These boots are amazing. I debated whether or not to splurge and get these or buy a pair that were half the price. So glad I chose these! Scarpas come highly recommended and these do not disappoint. No breaking in period, just comfortable from the first walk. Walking through wet grass and puddles just as if I was wearing wellies. The only con for me is that they are a lot heavier than I expected but I'm kind of glad because as a result the walk is a better work out. I also find the laces get a bit loose around the ankles as I walk but I hope to get some warm hiking socks that I think will solve this problem. All in all super pleased with my purchase!
These boots are absolutely fantastic! During my first hike in them, 15 miles over various terrain and changing weather conditions, I had no complaints! They kept my feet comfy, dry (even when standing in a bog) and supported! I felt like I had a spring in my step! Thank you LD Mountain centre for the speedy delivery!
second pair of these excellent boots- I wear them every day for work and dog walking, they stay waterproof, strong soles for all surfaces, are extremely comfortable and warm with good socks in the winter yet light weight to wear in summer too. great price and quick delivery
To be honest buying new walking boots online was at start very stressful. It was my first time of using this website as well. But I am so happy with my decision. I ended up with ordering 2 sizes and was freaking out about if I ever see my money back, but it turned out this is a reliable website. The delivery took max 3 days, the return was easy and my money for one pair of boots were send back within next day they got them back. Totally hassle free. The boots themselves were taken for first walk, they are comfy, no blisters, totally sturdy and waterproof and I used them in boggy Scottish Highlands. I absolutely love these boots.
I had worn out my last pair of Scarpa boots and moved to these. They were immediately comfortable and my first walk over the South Downs was three hours with no problems. Great boots!
