Product Reviews for Womens Valiance Jacket
Love my new RAB Valiance jacket. It’s totally waterproof and snuggly warm. The adjustable hood combined with the high collar makes you feel totally protected from wind, rain & snow. I’m a petite size so normally struggle to get jackets with arms short enough, but you can adjust the arm length brilliantly on the valliance! It’s my second valliance jacket cos I love my existing blue one so much. You’ll not find better in my opinion. Plus, there’s currently £80 off the RRP at Idmountaincentre!
Bought this jacket to stay warm in winter. Insulation is not that thick, but is much warmer than expected. And the length is good so that it can cover legs a bit. Completely satisfied.
This has to be the best jacket purchase I have ever made. Waterproof and warm in freezing conditions. I despise being cold in any way and this jacket has excelled in it's performance to the point where I've actually had to unzip to cool off. Bought size 12 and I'm 10-12 (but wanted to be able to wear layers underneath) could have gotten away with a 10 but would always prefer a little extra room.
This is the third jacket I have bought for my wife, as it is her 'Go-to' jacket all year round. Previous jackets have been brilliant - light, comfortable, warm and waterproof. It was superb this summer at the south coast, we had high winds and heavy rain and she remained warm and dry. Just invested in the latest version, in Dark Heather, as it will take six weeks for RAB to repair the broken zip and clean her Plum Valiance jacket.
These jackets are incredible - light, comfortable, warm and waterproof, not to mention really well thought through from a design perspective. The only thing I would change is the breast pocket. It is only accessible from inside the jacket. It would be helpful if it was an exterior zip pocket like so you get on so much outdoor kit. We bought ours a couple of years ago and use them as our go-to winter coat, whether out in the mountains, in town, on a local walk, or when jumping in and out of the car on cold days. i.e. they are not a jacket that you keep in the wardrobe and take out only when the mercury hits minus 20 and the weather is dry! While you might want a conventional summit down jacket for such extreme conditions, we have never been cold in these, even when temperatures were seriously below freezing. And when it gets warmer you can wear them until it gets to about plus 8 degrees - after that you'll wish you had picked that thinner coat. When it came time for our daughter to equip herself with a good all-purpose down jacket this was the logical choice, hence our recent order.
Wearing this jacket is a joy - it’s warm and waterproof which is a great combination
This jacket is beautifully warm and fully waterproof so is ideal for both general day to day wear and for the more exotic cold weather pursuits. As an older lady, I like the slightly longer length and the styling. This is my third similar jacket, my husband has one and so has my granddaughter so we are hooked good and proper!
This is the warmest jacket that I own. It is very comfortable and I find that I can get away with wearing just a long sleeve top underneath it most of the time. I probably wouldn't use it on a very active day out in the hills as it is so warm and I would rather have more layering options but it has stood up to the rain well and excellent in strong winds. My only niggle with the jacket is that the cut is a bit straighter and longer than I would have liked so it does feel and look a bit boxy but it is definitely keeping in extra warmth. The length can be also adjusted using the draw chords and I'm sure I will get used to it- not something I would return the jacket over.
