I bought this rucksack as my "day pack". I've found that unless you're carrying quite lightweight gear that you need a decent sized pack, even for just a day. This one has a huge internal hydration pouch, big enough for my 3L platypus system and the usual H2O output port. Lots of adjustment, nice long belt (with a small pocket on the RHS) and the body length adjustment is simple. Plenty of compartments and pockets and kept out the horizontal snow / sleet out with no problem. Nice surprise was to find the waterproof cover secreted at the bottom of the bag.
Only down-sides are the H2O output is only on one side (right shoulder). Chest strap does work it's way upwards so you have to keep pushing it down.
I bought this on sale and also used a discount code making the bag exceptional value. I am based in Scotland and a keen hillwalker mostly in fair weather but recently in more challenging environments and weather.
This was the reason for buying a bigger, harder wearing bag and this one fits the bill. It's an ideal size for a daytrip but big enough to take a lot of kit for overnight trips too.
The 'Freeflow' aspect makes it comfortable to wear preventing a sweaty back, the built in raincover in the base is an excellent addition to the bag. The side net pockets can be reached when its on your back if you are carrying a waterbottle or food and there are plenty secure storage areas for you car key.
All in all an excellent bag that does the job I want it to.
